Off the winding country road between Southampton and Sag Harbor, nestled in a private two-acre estate surrounded by tall pines, lies Tranquility Woods. The wrought iron gates open as you enter the long driveway to the house between the privet hedges. Completely remodeled by the builder of the 2008 Hamptons Designer Show House, 320 Old Sag Harbor Road is a 5,000 square foot, 4 bedroom, 4 bath classic Hamptons design replete with gambrel roof, cedar shake shingles, U.S .Open surface Tennis Court and a 20 x 40 foot long heated swimming pool. Tranquility Woods offers the relaxing solitude of a secluded retreat house yet conveniently located less than fifteen minutes from the villages of Southampton, Bridgehampton and Sag Harbor. It is close to the bay beaches and a short drive to the ocean beaches.
As you enter the foyer lit by the crystal chandelier hanging from the 20-foot ceiling, the proper living room is off to the right along with the dining room with a table that seats ten comfortably. The kitchen with stainless steel appliances is open to the dining room. The great room features a Knabe grand piano, Gibson and Martin guitars with amps and a 65-inch Samsung. Original oil paintings grace the walls throughout the home and there are beautiful oriental rugs that enhance the decor. The charming “blue room” is on the main floor with a queen bed along with a full bath. The “studio” room is at the end of the main floor which can be equipped with one or two twin beds as needed and has a Peloton exercise bike.
The staircase leads to three upstairs bedrooms. The junior master features a long balcony which overlooks the pool and is accessed by French doors just off the queen bed and ensuite bath.. The “red room” has a western exposure, also with a queen bed. Down the hall is an office with an Apple Mac for use by guests across from another full marble bath. A few steps further, you enter the expansive grand master suite. Two closets are on either side of the wet bar with Nespresso coffee maker. The king bed with coastal headboard and dressers look out onto a large covered balcony which also overlooks the pool. The Statuary Marble master bath is equipped with a large Kohler jetted tub and steam shower.
Back downstairs, you can turn on the sound system that selectively directs music from your iPhone to any room in the house and backyard. Pull open the sliding door and you enter the covered back porch with comfortable lounge chairs on the blue stone patio. The Lynx grill is on the patio next to the farm table for al fresco dining. Chaise lounges on the side of the pool can be enjoyed while sunbathing or in the shade under the two umbrellas. An arched arbor leads from the back yard to the front of the house.
Tranquility Woods is aptly named. Come enjoy this tranquil paradise!
