Find the perfect vacation accommodations at this Wainscott residence,
Sayres Sanctuary. Located a half mile from the beach and a two-minute walk to the farm stand, enjoy Sayres Sanctuary as the ultimate private retreat.
This traditional shingle house with blue accent shutters was the original school house of Wainscott established in 1812. It has been completely renovated, but still maintains the original charm. The two-story home is stylishly furnished, with beautiful hardwood floors throughout and furnishings that make you feel as if you’re staying at a country estate. The white and beige palette evokes a fresh, bright aesthetic. Throughout the house, French doors provide the exit to the outdoors from many of the rooms.
The stunning great room features original wood-beam vaulted ceilings, as well as comfortable couch seating around a fireplace. The great room enjoys views of the backyard, along with the adjacent formal dining room, which has a long wooden table that seats eight people.
The eat-in kitchen features white kitchen cabinets with bead-board doors, stainless steel appliances, and a center island. It opens up to a sitting room that has a flat screen TV, comfortable couches, and charming decor. The finished basement is sparingly decorated, with a flat screen TV and more comfortable couches for lounging around.
With five bedrooms, the house comfortably sleeps eight people. The bedrooms are tastefully appointed with comfortable bedding and the bathrooms are spacious.
Enjoy the seclusion of the large beautifully landscaped backyard, surrounded by manicured hedges. On the blue-stone patio, there is an outdoor dining area. A heated gunite pool is the large backyard’s central hub, with lounge chairs nearby. Next to the pool is a pool house that has a ping pong table on a blue-stone floor.
